2nd National PPP4Broadband Training Day

Тhe Center for Knowledge Management organised the 2nd National Training Day for the PPP4Broadband project on November 24th, 2014, at Skopje, at the premises of the EU Info Center.

35 representatives from both the private and the public sector took part at the training. There were attendees from 12 municipalities, telecom operators, the Agency for Electronic Communications, as well as from the centres for development of the rural regions in Macedonia.

The main goal of the second national training was to:

  • To raise awareness between the regional and local actors regarding their role in broadband development.
  • To present the current situation and the necessity for quality broadband connection in the region.
  • To indicate the need for the public administration, i.e. the public institutions to participate with investments when there is market failure.
  • To present the created tools, the 9 models, the portal, the Center for Excellence, as well as the “Guidelines on how to use Public Private Partnership models”.
  • To present the good practices in broadband development through PPP models on national and international level.

We created 9 public-private partnership models which are aligned with the Digital Agenda for Europe 2020. The overall concept of PPP4Broadband is presented through four pilot municipalities from four SEE countries including Makedonska Kamenica in Macedonia, Patras in Greece, Alba Iulia in Romania and Ajdovscina in Slovenia. Also, we created Centers for Excellence which enable the expansion of PPP knowledge in Europe”, stated Mrs. Andrijana Bogdanovska, director at the Center for Knowledge Management.
